I wanted to spend some time with you

Was it last Sunday, I wanted to spend time with you. I wanted to just play with you. You passed me a DVD instead. You wanted to watch the DVD program instead though I wanted to spend time with you.

Many times in our relationship with God it is the same. God desires to spend time with us, He is all ready. But we miss out on the opportunity to be close to Him when we have our own agenda. There was a little boy in the Bible called Samuel. When God called, he answered immediately. Not once, not twice, but three times. Phi Phi, when God calls you for a time out to fellowship with Him, don't miss that, because this is your chance to experience His presence

I took a walk with you

Last Sunday was the first time we went for a walk together. The experience, was simply magical. There were 3 small birds welcoming us as we bagan our walk. The birds were very small, with colorful feather and beautiful voice. As we continued to walk, a rooster crowed. I have been this place before but I have never seen a rooster. God has made it very special for us. One by one the dog came and say hello to you. I have not seen so many dogs before this walk. Most of them are kept in the house. This time they are out greeting you. I can see that God really loves you. God made it special for you because He knows how much you love dogs

I started learning to walk with God quite late. I learned about walking with God from Hakan, my good Swedish friend. He used to ask me to go for walk in the woods with him. So I went and we would walked for hours. Talked as we walked. There was no moment of silence. We just talked and talked. It was never me alone talking but both of us are talking and listening.

This year I have decided to take regular walk with God. I will go to the woods. Walk by the water. One author suggested a moonlight walk. That I will do soon. Phi Phi, learn to walk with God early in your life. Then you will learn what it means, 'Enoch walked with God' (Genesis 5:24). Walk with God and walk close to God.

Living near each other

By now you probably have known I like it when you cling onto me. You are getting heavier though. I wonder how long will I be able to carry you in my arms like a shepherd carrying a little lamb. One day, you will be too heavy for me. You will soon grow up. The day will come when you will leave home. I don't look forward to that. I like you being close to me. It is common for parents in the west to bump their kids out of the house once they reach certain age. I don't like to do that. In fact, I will be very sad if in future we are living very far away from each other. You always want to be close to someone you love.

Can daddy and mummy make a request? If you can, don't live more than 15 minutes drive from us. If possible, within walking distance of 10 minutes and less

You called me 'Daddy'

Was it last Sunday, sorry, I can't remember the exact day. You were able to call me 'Daddy' again and again. You are able to call me Daddy before this. But this time you did it with much ease. You called him 'Daddy'...'Daddy' upon prompting from others. That was nice. In fact, it is more than nice. It just conjured up so much love in me for you. I like you calling me Daddy.

There is someone who loves you more than me. You have yet to know Him. He is not living here on earth. He is living in heaven. When you get to know Him, you can call Him, 'Daddy'. God is our Daddy in heaven. He loves it when we call Him Daddy

Clinging onto daddy

You came down with fever after we went to the wave pool. Children tend to be more 'whiny' when they fall sick. As I was carrying you, you were putting your small arms around my neck and rested your head on me like most toddlers do. I enjoyed that moment because I feel needed and wanted by you when you held onto me. Joshua your 'co co ' said aptly, 'Phi Phi is clinging onto dad'. In fact the more you clinged onto me, the more I feel needed and wanted. It was like all the love that is hidden in my heart is suddenly triggered and released towards you.

This is a picture of what it is like when we pray to God. When we come to God with our requests, we are acknowledging our need for him. We are telling God, 'Lord, I can't do this. I can't solve the problem. I need You'. Prayer will produce in God the feelings of being needed and wanted. The more we come to him to pray, the more He feel needed and wanted by us. God's heart will turn tender and soft. Like a loving father He wants to help us as we cling onto Him. When we are praying, we become like a little child, clinging onto God, holding onto Him, refusing to go away from His loving embrace.

I think by the time you can read this, you may not like to read just plain text. I will try to put in pictures, music, video to make this blog more interesting.

Here's a song for you. I like the images of Jesus with the children

Why I create this blog

Phileo, my younger son is only 21 months old. He can't read let alone understand this blog. I want to do this so that he can read when he is older. I came to know a dad who pen down his thoughts in a book after he found out he was stricken with terminal illness. Well, I am not ill. But life is short, who knows what will happen tomorrow or the next moment

I will address him as the 1st person. I will call him Phi Phi like I am calling him now.
